Need advice - regular periods without clomid?

Hi all, I need some help ladies. I'm 31 TTC #1 since dec 2013. I did my 4th cycle of clomid and AF just showed up. (LBefore clomid, I was having 40+ day cycles with one horrible 64 day cycle. On clomid, my cycles shortened to 29-34 days (each one progressively shorter). My DH needs to be with his father right now due to medical issues and won't be coming home until after the holidays so I will miss any chance on my next fertile period. (Any way that I can do this without him? Ha ha :) ) I'm worried about not taking clomid though because what if my cycles lengthen again and it delays the whole process? Anyone who has been on clomid for at least 3 cycles and stopped it,did your cycles return to previous length or stay shorter? Thanks for your help!
