What's your definition?

Question

I see it used most everywhere, the terms slut and whore, but what are your personal definitions? 
I'm not trying to start fights? I genuinely want to know what people consider a slut. 
My own say in the matter is that whores sell themselves so calling a girl a whore because she had sex is nullified since she didn't sell herself but what about slut? What constitutes the use of the word?
I don't think a girl should be called slutty because she's had lots of sex or likes to party with the guys(or girls depending on which way she swings)
But what about you girls? Opinions?

Someone who sleeps or tries to sleep with someone in a relationship. Or someone who cheats when in a relationship. 
I would use the term regardless of the sex of the person. Men can be sluts and whores too.

Slut: An insult used to unfairly criticize women for enjoying sex when it's totally natural.

Whore: A word used to shame women for having sex by comparing them to people who exchange sex for money.

I'm really happy about all these answers, the ones saying its outdated and wrong ect 
I was asking because a good friend of mine, not good enough for me to talk to her about all my endeavors, found out I'd had sex...often. 
She was really upset by it and called me some less than kind names and for the first time I almost felt ashamed of myself for partaking in having sex, but I don't see it as a bad thing to enjoy sex. 
And it'd taken me ages to accept that just because I'm not a virgin and I like sex doesn't make me any less of a woman. All this hubbub has just brought all the negatives I'd dealt with to the surface again ya know.

I think both words are completely based on totally arbitrary, subjective, antiquated ideas of what's okay for a woman to do and what is not. Both words are designed to control and shame women. They perpetuate rape culture and I'm not okay with using either of them.

There's no such thing as a slut. 
And "whore" is no longer the acceptable term. Refer to them as sex workers as per their request.

Both are words that are used negatively to shame women who enjoy sex. I don't use either in that sense.
However, I am embracing the use of "slut" as it is used in the book "Ethical Slut", meaning someone (gender neutral) that is sex-positive and empowered by making conscious, ethical decisions about their sex life.

I use them jokingly now but I called my step sister a whore for sleeping with 30+ guys in less than two years. Never said it was right though.
