Texas is a joke. Easily one of the worst states in the U.S.. I know plenty of people who have left or want to leave that hellhole, and I can understand why.
What the hell is wrong with America???
Texas just approved of a text book for school kids that says Moses was a foundingt father!!! Seriously?? I would yank my kids from that school so fast!! This is shameful. Thoughts???

Holy Hell! I will pull my kid out of school if they start that nonsense here. Wow! It's almost scary that, what really is ignorance, is being taught at school. Unbelievable! Texas, come on now!

TX is one of the few states that doesn't use common core so I say they're smarter than most the states here. I love TX, it's my home state, if I still lived there I would actually let my kids go to public school. And from what I read it does not say Moses is a founding father lmao.

It does effect me because my sisters are in the public school system and I'm still friends my high school teachers. I don't need children to know and care about what's bring taught in public schools. Common core does have flaws, but it's not as bad as people say it is. It needs work, but it is moving in the right direction. A similar thing happened long ago, but on a smaller scale, with the way children were taught how to subtract larger numbers. The older generation was taught fast shortcuts to solve, like by flipping the top and bottom numbers when the top was too small to subtract. But, because that wasn't how it actually worked, teachers began teaching how to "borrow" from a higher place. It was a slower method initially, but knowing the why rather than just the how made it easier to learn decimals and other concepts down the road. Common core is somewhat similar to this. The main problem is that it's difficult for the older students to adjust when they weren't taught and tested this way since the very beginning.

The process they had was poor and the article I read stated there were numerous last minute changes made to the books and that critics as well as the politicians didn't have time to read them before voting. In other news, we have one of the 10 medical centers in the world and a national laboratory, of which there are four of, not to mention one of apples corporate offices. There are countless other positive qualities Texas possesses but I wouldn't expect anyone to appreciate them that's from outside of the state from lack of knowledge. Hence the reason I don't put down other states but strive to see the best on all of them. I do agree that it's a poor decision on the part of the politicians and hopefully there are some people with sense to teach these kids right. Just goes to show you you can't rely on books to teach you everything.

Not saying its historically accurate but what's wrong with it other then that? I'm not understanding. I don't agree with evolution but they still teach it they should pull that.
