It doesn't mean having a child attached to you 24-7. You can have a child who doesn't like to be carried, or doesn't do well with co-sleeping, or you are not capable to breast feed & still practice attachment parenting. The definition is different depending on the parent but it's mainly based on treating your child(ren) like a person/people not just a child who needs to do & act as is most convenient for you. Trying to understand & acknowledge their emotions & provide for them in a way that isn't to treat them like they are somehow less than you just for being young.

Ok, I feel like everyone thinks attachment parenting means you are wearing your baby/with your baby 24-7....that has so little to do with it! The goal of attachment parenting is to create a child with a secure attachment style. This means they will learn to feel safe and secure in their environment. The method involves being "tuned-in" or attuned to your child's needs from infancy through to adolescence. For examples: say your infant is fussing, you attempt to soothe it by feeding/holding/changing and eventually learn what different fussing indicates....most ppl get this. Now say your toddler refuses to sleep, or stay in bed... an attuned parent would recognize that a 2-year old does not yet have the capacity to be "bad" but is rather expressing some NEED, in a non-verbal, behavioral way and would help the child learn what the issue at bed time is. Or let's say your 7-year old comes home and says "I hate school" a misattuned parent says, "oh honey, don't say that, your good at school...." Maybe completely missing the opportunity to help the child learn and communicate a social or emotional issue happening at school.

Of course. Its better for baby. Baby cries less too. Just please get a good carrier. (Baby Bjorn causes hip displacia same with designs like them) you want a carrier that has a good amount of space apart for baby's legs.  Like beco carriers or ergo or lillebaby carriers. 
Also just a quick overview of different sleeping practices: room sharing = same room but not arms reach away. Co-sleeping = arms reach away on separate sleep surface. Bed sharing = same sleep surface. A lot of people think co sleeping is being in the same bed so you may not want to use that word unless you want a lot of misjudgement

I don't believe in co sleeping, I wanted to breast feed but it didn't work out, I believe in self soothing to an extent, I never baby carried my son, but you know what I did do? I make sure my son was well taken care of, I attended to his cries right away when I knew he was hungry or needed a diaper change, and I know my son loves me even though I didn't have him attatched to me 24-7. It works for some people, but not for everyone.

A parent can only use some or all attachment parenting if they can handle the constant presence of the baby all the time.  Do partial attachment but i find it equally important for the children to want to explore and investigate and learn on their own to increase their motor and cognitive skills

I don't think I need a specialized theory to care for my child. I will learn from my mom and sister and baby what works for us. I want to carry her simply because it is easier and less strain on my bad shoulders than hauling a baby bucket, and we will be sleeping in the same room because we don't have another room for baby now, but I don't think that categorizes me as following any kind of "style" ...
