ParaGard IUD Help

I am currently using the pill and have been since I was 17 (am now 22 and married but not TTC). I have recently learned more about the copper IUD and am interested to hear about any of your personal experiences with it. I like the fact that it does not contain hormones, but it freaks me out to have something stuck in my uterus...

Is it better than the pill? Has it caused any problems for you? How soon after getting it inserted can you have it taken out? Did it cause problems with getting pregnant after being removed?

Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated! :)
