Does pcos ever go away or get fully cured?

I am 27 and have most symptoms of pcos (body hair, worse acne from 23-27 than in my teens, hair loss recently and long cycles) i have an appointment scheduled this week to see my dr. I only recently started having the irregularly long cycles (50-60 days last two times). We intend to try to have children soon and I'm just curious if there is something I have done to cause this or if I can change my behavior/diet to keep this from being a problem in the future. I'm 5'6, 140 so I'm probably a few pounds overweight but not obese.
