baby shower and birthday party?

Is it too much to have a birthday party with a baby shower together? was thinking about having a little family outting and than a baby shower another day but DH thinks it's unfair to have a party for one and not the other! Our LO is going to be 2 in March and I'm due May ! but had LO early

I would do them on different days. You don't want to take away from one, or the other.

I didn't think people had showers for a 2nd baby.  I've heard of a 'sprinkle' if friends want to get together but a full blown shower for #2?  I haven't been invited...thankfully...because my DH would not support yet another gift for people.
