Do you really need a period to start clomid? If the purpose of clomid is to induce ovulation then why do most doctors induce a period first? Im thinking of starting my clomid today at 14 dpo(got negative hpt this morning) without having a period...I know you all aren't doctors but what do you think?

I wouldn't start until the days your dr recommends (I was told to use clomid on CD 5-9). Since it's changing your hormones, it's very important to take it at the right time in your cycle to be effective.

Im not sure... but a period sheds ur uterus lining and brings in a new lining which will help u in a healthy pregnancy...u can ask ur doc itll b much more useful. .
