Science is getting closer and closer to the day when couples will be able to determine with 100% accuracy whether they want to have a boy or a girl. (Some IVF clinics already offer this service now, but the process is cumbersome and costly.) But if you could, would you choose to have one or the other? Please comment why you would not, if you choose no.

If I could... I would choose for a healthy baby and pregnancy that allows me carry on with my normal life from start to end. No meds, no cerclage surgery, no bedrest and no weekly visits to the doctor. ...If I could just get the above, the baby gender would be irrelevant to me...

I'm not sure how all the comments saying 'I just want a healthy baby' are relevant. I think that probably goes for 100% of people trying to conceive. By admitting a gender preference it's not as if you're choosing it over the health of your child.

For me, its the wrong question. I am going to be a dad for the first time and I am both excited and terrified at the same time. I would love to have a healthy baby, that's all. But! All of my experience with babies, changing nappies, feeding, burping and bathing etc has been with boys. (My 2 nephews). I work in an all boys school and so I feel I would be more confident and more at home if I had a boy. Having a girl would send me into a bit of panic as I am not used to it, but there wouldn't be, not even the tiniest ounce of disappointment. I would still be the happiest man alive.

I wouldn't choose because I believe God gives you what He sees fit for you to have! 💖🙏💙👣🍼👶

I simply think: don't mess around with nature.

I couldn't care less. Whatever God decice to give me. I will love him or her and take care of them the best way I can.

I would love to have a little girl. We're on our third boy. But I wouldn't "choose" I don't like the idea of playing God. I think picking and choosing the babies physical traits is something that should be left to God and nature.

Honestly after having a miscarriage with my first baby as long as it's healthy I don't care what it is.

My husband and I are religious and we don't like to mess around with Gods creations. We are happy with whatever gender he decides for us. So far we have a beautiful baby girl and we will find out in 7 more weeks what this child will be.
