I've thought over this for the better part of a year so I'm not rushing into anything but what do I do if it's really difficult to get around parents? any stories?

Trust me! They find out EVERYTHING. Do not text about it, no emails, no Facebook messages NADA. don't even call while you're in the same house about it. Everything you think you delete is actually stored online and with the right software someone can hack it. it happened to me.

My mom was way over protective when it came to guys. And she had every right to be. I'm her oldest daughter, she has experienced pretty bad things in life and of course the main reason, she's my mom and she has motherly instincts. I never really fought it, I just found ways around it. I didn't have sex until I was 17 (she asked that I wait till 18 but I mean close enough). I just would go elsewhere and do it. I've literally had sex in my own house once. Other than that it's at the guys house. 
Now I'm 18 and my mom really has no say. She knows I have sex with my boyfriend and she's accepted it. She's driven me to his house before while my car was in the shop.

Honestly if your parents are that over protective you're probably not old enough anyways. At 17 I didn't feel old enough, now that I've found someone I love being with and am comfortable with, I feel ready. I don't regret doing it at 17 but waiting wouldn't have been so bad.
