Breastfeeding

Lauvenia

I'm breast feeding my kid, and I just recently found out today that in my entire family of pro-breastfeeders, not one of them nursed after 1 year, only pumped. My mother claimed it was because they could develop seperation anxiety later. I was expecting a lamer excuse for it I guess, and I'll do a research session soon, but I'd thought I'd ask on here.

Let it be known though, I had intended on stopping skin contact feedings at 2ish, probably at the most. I'm sick of sore nips really, plus pumping more regularly could give daddy some more feeding time too. So originally I didn't intend on being a long term feeder. I hate feeding in public, so that would get more uncomfortable as time went on anyway. I do find breasts as a multi-use sex organ, so I use cover ups, but still..

Has anyone breastfeeding or has breast fed used skin contact longer than a year? Have/did you see any additional clinging outside the normal for a small kid? In wither yours, or someone elses kid?
