Any Primary teachers? Or ideas!

Question

I am I primary teacher to the Valiant 8 class. This week the lesson is mostly about the war in heaven and how Jesus volunteered. I'm having trouble in coming up with a fun interesting way to teach it! The lesson manual basically just has the story written out and nothing else. I don't want to just read it because I feel like they won't listen very well and it'll be boring, how can I make it fun?

I was thinking they could act it out or something, but I'm not sure and it would be a lot of work because I'm not sure how I would execute it (making lines for them to read while acting for or just act it out while I read the story) once I had my kids last year read read a script while they acted but they didn't get anything out of it because they weren't paying attention to what they were reading. (But I have a different class now so it might work with them!) 
Any ideas? :)

My hubby and I teach the valiant 11 class. We love primary, but some lessons can be hard! Try starting with hangman - use a key word that starts the lesson off. (Like "foreordained") we also do scripture searches where they race to the reference. We will sometimes pair them and have them read a verse or two and then teach the class what they learned from it. Sometimes we just hand out note cards and have them take notes. I think praying for each child has helped us a lot as we plan.
