What makes someone a slut?

I have been called a slut on several occasions, and I bet most girls have. I'm a virgin so doesn't that mean I can't be a slut.

My definition of a slut/ whore is someone who promotes the sex they have. You can have sex with whoever whenever you want but sex should be private. Keep your private life private. There's a difference between telling close friends and being completely loud and publicly open about it to anyone you talk to.

Slut, whore, ho, are all degrading terms for girls/women that partake in sexual activities. 
If you make the decision to have sex with someone that's your choice and you should never be shamed for making it. 
You could sleep with hundreds and you know what? You're not a slut. The words are outdated.

Some believe sluts/whores/etc. Aren't real because they disagree with the words. I also disagree with them, believing girls should have sexual freedom as well, however, I feel like if it has a definition, I'd tag it on to like a homewrecker. I don't think there is any such thing as a slut. I think it's used against women who like sex, and that's ridiculous. Have sex with who you want, when you want, and as much as you want, as long as it's consensual.

I think it more of the clothes. Miley Cyrus dresses kinda slutting and everyone calls her a slut but she doesn't sleep around. But there's Taylor swift and she sleeps around with everyone but she doesn't dress slutting so everyone thinks she a good girl.
