Posting pictures of your kids on facebook?

A lot of people are starting to abstain from posting pictures of their children in social media in the name of respecting their privacy. What do you think?

I keep my page very private, and I never accept random friend requests. I have a small circle, and I am by no means attempting to be in a popularity contest. I mainly use facebook as a way of keeping up with family that I don't see or speak to very often, vs it being a social thing. 
That being said, I do post pics of my daughter periodically. The photos that I post are never anything even close to being inappropriate, and I never give out any information, such as where we live or what school she goes to. I'm a momma bear to the max.

I think if you post pics they should be appropriate and with no major identifying information, like school/address.

I don't see any harm in it if you know your privacy settings. 
I don't see what difference it makes If my close friends and family can see pictures of my son. They'll see him regularly walking to the shop or to school with me so why not share the picture of him falling on his bum at the ice rink or his first day of school. 
if you have your child's pictures framed around your living room anyone walking past your house can see them as well as the cable guy and the guy that comes to read the gas meter The plumber the delivery guy etc
If you think someone's gonna troll your Facebook to see your kids fully clothed and internet appropriate pictures delete Facebook or manage your security. 
I'd be more worried about the weird middle aged man who stares a bit too long out of his window when we walk past ..

My profile is private. And I do not post pictures of others children without permission. I made sure my profile is stranger danger proof lol. I use it to keep some family updated with everything. I don't have any family or friends here where I'm at, and it's a lot easier to upload a picture with an update one time, than emails.(im stupid when it comes to emails lol. I can't figure out how to delete old emails.... All 2,000 of them....)

Mine is completely private. Only family and friends that are on my friends lost can see what I post. Heck you can even restrict those on your friends lists from seeing what you post.

If someone else asks you not to post pictures you should follow there wishes. My profile is private you can't even see who I'm friends with unless I'm your friend and I know everyone on my friends list. I don't see the harm in it.

I posted pictures of my daughter and my mother in law hated it she got onto me fo it I told my parents and they laughed my dad said next time send it to me and I'll post I'm not scared of no one lol

My facebook is private, all you see is my cover photo and profile pic. I don't live by my family and have friends all over (military life) so I do post pics of my son and will of any other kids.  I'm not going to live my life in fear and paranoia.

I have pictures of my niece on my Facebook, but if my sister asked me to take them down or wasn't OK with me posting them, I would absolutely respect that.
