Would you go out with as guy who doesn't have a car. He doesn't think women should give in to the fantasy that they are princesses. He had a film degree. And works hard. But doesn't make enough to afford a car.

If you live in the city where you can easily get somewhere via subway or bus, then no a car isn't important. But if you live out in bumblefuck nowhere, then yes you need a car. If the supermarket is 20 minutes away by car.. how the h you getting there?

Not having the car is a minor point, the fact that in all the things you could use to describe him you included how he feels about women and "giving in" to fantasies, that's a red flag to me.

The fantasy of being a princess is rooted in wanting to feel as though you're an ideal to be desired and adored. What's so terrible about that?

I don't have a car! and thankfully I don't lol that's how me and my husband really got to know each other more sense we worked at the same place he would always take me or drop me off and we got to know each other in those car rides

My husband doesn't have a car, and never has. I bought my car when I was 20 (we were dating then).

Cars are expensive and not always necessary! I don't see what the big deal is. If not having a car is a deal breaker... He can find someone better out there.

I think it matters more after a certain age and depending on what someone does (work or study) and where they live

Let me add. He doesn't feel like material things are important. He's polite. But he doesn't understand women at all. And he's not taking my advice.. So I said I'd ask a group of women and get multiple opinions. I said the car is a big deal, because I don't wanna pick you up ok km a first date. That's odd.
