When you loose a twin does the other twin know?

Having crazy feelings today I'm scared that one day my baby will ask me what happened to its twin what am I supposed to say? Will she even know she had a twin will she not even remember her twin or will she feel like something is missing in her life BC she was supposed to be a twin

I'm a twin that lost my twin early pregnancy.. I had no clue it was my 17th birthday I was sleeping the wee hours of my birthday morning I had this dream of a girl that looked just like me saying hello sis you don't know me but I use to play with you when we was younger.. The friend no one could see?? I wanted you to know I love you a grandma is now up here with me. I woke up balling my eyes out.. I went to my mom's room and told her about it and she told me than I had lost my twin sister. And that when I was little I would play with an imaginary friend that was named Renea that I even would tell my mother she was my sister.. I had my imaginary friend till I started school.. Longer than most children.. So yes I knew but not till I got older..

They say they'll feel it. I have no experience with this firsthand. My brothers are twins and they're very close/connected.

I think it'd be wise to tell your child eventually. I'm a firm believer they'll meet one day 😉 might as well be prepared! 😊

I was supposed to be a twin.... My grandma always told me I ate my twin- not a good memory for me.
I have a... Sensory problem known as sensory defensiveness- it's a hole in your personal bubble (that's how I explain it, as it's the best description)
I think it's because I was supposed to be a twin... But there's no scientific proof.

I lost my twin before I was born. I always knew, I felt like something was missing. It was always sort of in the back of my head. It was something I KNEW. People always asked me if I had a twin that had died, it was weird. So on midnight on my 15th birthday in a walmart parking lot I asked my dad if I had a twin that had died. He told me I did. He didn't know what had happened, but my twin hadn't made it. as a little kid I had begged and cried and screamed for a little sister or brother. Once, when I still spoke to my birth mother, I asked her about the person who was in her belly with me. She was totally shocked. (Sorry this is all out of order, I'm writing as I remember the details.)
For a long time after my dad admitted it, I was heartbroken and doubted myself. "How can I be a whole person if I'm only half of a set?" I used to ask myself. However, eventually I regained confidence and now I know I am a whole person. Your child will most likely know, but don't fret. Just try to give them as much information about what happened as you possibly can. And make sure they know that they aren't Half of a whole, that they both would've been whole people. They aren't missing half of themselves, just another person. If you're religious, maybe you could say how happy they are in heaven and talk to your child about being reunited in heaven. I don't have experience in this area, but I know there was a time where one twin was killed while the other was left to survive and brain waves went crazy as soon as his twin was killed, they were asleep when all of this was going on. So, yes, I believe there is a physcological connection.

I just asked my hubby who was a twin, but the other baby was miscarried early. He's always known because his mom told him,  but he said he has always felt like something was missing.

My husband was a twin in utero- he says he never would have known if his mom didn't tell him. My friend also lost a twin in utero and her little one is a happy, healthy, fun little boy with no idea in the world.

I would just suggest that you are honest and open about it. My twin was still born and I've always known about her. I wouldn't say that I felt different, but maybe it's because I never had to question it.

I am a twin and I just know when something isn't right or the other way around. Maybe one day probably early teens the child will feel like something is missing and off. But I think all u can do is sit down and tell the child what happened u ended up losing one but was lucky to be able to her him or her. And help the child go through the grieving process. Good luck
