When doing a HPT, is it vital to take it in the morning?

Hey guys. I'm about 1-2 days past when AF was supposed to arive. I took a test earlier today. I'm pretty sure it was bfn, but it was also about noon when I did it. Is it vital to take the test first thing in the morning?
