Parents divorced? Or still together?

Parents just got divorced last Friday after being separated 5 years + all the stuff they put me my sisters and brothers through I'm just really having a difficult time handling this. I have nightmares at some of the stuff that occurred in there marriage, and hold on to there marriage book to this day. Just having a hard time.

My dad has been divorced three times and my mom has been divorced twice. I support both of my moms but didn't support my dads third marriage to begin with so I was open about my views(even before the wedding). It has made me a stronger person and has raised my expectations so high that I was convinced I would be single for the rest of my life and that I would adopt to have children. I met my husband. My bother didn't take it as easily. Every divorce, just like every person, is different.

The question was if your parents are still together or not...just wanted to know how many couples are still together in this crazy population. Sorry if that did not make sense to you.

I can't cope with it. It's the reason why I made the post. I went through hell being 4 years old and seeing the things I did, every single night. I just needed to vent. Was wanting people to maybe share they're stories...

They were married for 33 or 34 years. They are still together, but in heaven.  They passed away 10 and a half months apart in 2011, different illnesses

My parents were divorced when I was  5 and boy am I thankful for that. My dad is great, but an alcoholic. He was able to get his act together for our weekend visits and never missed one. My mom remarried a wonderful man that treated my sister and I like his own. I am greatful for my wonderful parents and their decision to parent separately.

My parents have been married for 30 years, my mum has been threatening divorce for as long as I can recall, at this point I know they're together because of convenience and financial reasons but it works for them

I have been through this a couple of times. My parents got divorced when I was 4. That did not hit me nearly as hard as my mom and my step father divorcing when I was 19. They had been together for over 10 years. It is very hard to go through. He played a very important role in my life when my biological father was not there for me. That was 5 years ago and it is still very rough for me. I know you don't know me, but I can talk if you need to.
