That it's lazy to sleep during the day when you have a 3rd shift full-time job? My parents and other parts of the family are always yelling at me and cussing me out because I work 3rd shift and sleep during the day. They say that it's lazy to sleep all day. I don't think it's fair, not everybody is blessed with a full-time day job.

Depends. How long are you sleeping? More than 9 hours? If yes than you could reasonably be called lazy. If a normal 8-9 hours than no. Any less and it would be unhealthy. Even 10 hours would be acceptable for some people.

I use to work 3 12's 7p-7a and would sleep all day on the days I work. I don't care who got pissed but I'd tell them to leave me alone and let me sleep. It's hard to stay up all night with no sleep. I always told my dad you wake me up and 2p I'll be waking your ass up at 2am and see how you feel. People who don't work nights do not understand!

No, my boyfriend works 3rd and he sleeps for 5-6, sometimes 7, hours depending on how early/late he gets off work. When else do they expect you to sleep? Lol

I used to work 3 twelves or 4 tend depending on the needs that usually went over by 2-4 hours. They have no clue what it's like to be a 3rd shifter. Ignore them.

You have to sleep some time.. Godly if that's lazy I would hate to see them sleep at night after working all day.. Cause that's what they are saying to you..

My fiancée is a fireman on day and nigh shifts and I've never once questioned him needing to sleep in the day when he's in between nights and when he comes off his last night I have a 2pm limit so that he sleeps ok that night! Do what your body needs, not what everyone tells you to do!

I find when I'm working nights I need more sleep. Because it's not a natural rhythm it's not as restful and there's no way around that.

That's YOUR time to sleep! My partner works 12 hour over night shifts from 8:00pm-8:00am. His day is exactly flipped from someone who works 12 hours in the daytime.  I get so pissed when people can't understand this. A family member wanted to to be at her place by 4:00pm on his day off after working four in a row and for him that's like getting up at 4:00am. When I explained that to her it finally sunk in.
