Reborn dolls?

What's the purpose of a "reborn doll"? I'm only asking here because people take these dolls in public and buy car seats, cribs, clothes and other baby items for what a real baby needs. Does anyone else think it's odd?

Yes. I believe it is a puciatric condition that needs to be address because it's not normal to buy a 200$ crib for a doll.

It's certainly not normal but it's not harming anyone. The way I see it is the possibility that this level of mental illness and obsession is the same as women who steal (or attempt) actual babies. I am happy to let a woman feel fufilled with a doll. Do your thing, just don't hurt anyone else.

I have seen videos on YouTube of them and some I thought were real babies. I'm not really sure why people do it. Maybe its some type of problem they have. It has to be no one in there right mind would spend so much money on a doll.

I have a cousin who pushes around a white stuffed gorilla. She dresses it, talks to it, buys it stuff. She acts like it's a real baby. I don't talk to her anymore and she is NOT allowed around my son or younger cousins anymore. She went off the deep end when they were born and we don't trust her around them. She has extreme bipolar and anxiety.  So I'm pretty it  has to do with a mental illness.

i don't think it's normal for a grown lady to be playing with a doll and pushing it around in public and all that jazz but if that's what they want to do ? its a bit weird though ... there's There's a young lady around my area she must be about 17 she has a huge white and gold silver cross deluxe carriage must of cost a fortune ! with a reborn doll in it ... its just not normal really
