I'm lesbian ,  almost 20 years old.

I will be going to the doctors the day i turn 21 for a Artificial insemination,  i have read about it, talked to doctors about it. I'll get to ask the back ground etc. It's like $900 per a cycle but then adoption is $40,000 I'm so sad ! I was just wondering what others opinions are about these topics?

I would do artificial insemination. Having a baby with your blood would be more of my style but I dunno about anyone else.

My wife and i actually found an anonymous donor and are doing an at home insemination. We spent about 50 bucks on supplies and thats all we need, other than the donor spermies. Great way to keeps costs down and works the same way.

I don't know who told you adoption was 40,000????? But that is so wrong. I'm adopted and if you adopt out of foster care(foster to adopt program) you actually get paid monthly... Not sure where your information is from

Well you could save money and take one for the team and ask a very trusting best guy friend but you should discuss this with your partner.

Yes, I agree that carrying a child, feeling that baby grow and kick and hiccup and respond to your voice, and sharing that bond is a very rewarding experience in and of itself. I would never consider adoption without exhausting all other options for my own child first. But that's just me personally. I think it's a great idea. Just be ready for the ups and downs that will come with each round.

My friend and her wife found an anonymous donor through a website. I know it was based out of California but I can't remember the name. It was great, gave you tons of info about the donor and even 3 photos of the donor as a child. Took a couple rounds of AI, but they'll be welcoming their beautiful lil girl into the world on 4/19😄

Honestly it's all up to you. With adoption there are lots of kids who need loving parents, but like you mentioned, it's expensive.  With the insemination, they use your eggs and you carry the baby and can experience all the ups and down of pregnancy.  While it may seem cheaper in the long run, it may take a few months for a successful attempt.

It's not an artifical baby. It's an iui and lots of women (straight, single, married, and lesbian) have it done. It is much cheaper than adoption and it can biologically be one of yours. Be aware that it can take several rounds of iui to get pregnant.
