I put yes. I am in a long distance relationship only because i was already inlove with my bf before he moved away. If it had been earlier in the relationship or if i was to start a new relationship i would avoid the LDR all the way its just not for me :/ but ive managed for the past two years with my love

I think it really depends in the couple. I know one girl that went to my school she has a fiance in america. She is in her last year of uni and moving to america either this year or next and getting married :P they see eachother about 5/6 months a year. I think they have been together for about 3/4 years. It can work if you are commited and you have trust and communication.

When I first met my love(my best friends husbands best friend) we lived 2801 miles apart. I in Portland, OR, & he in DC. He was only there for two days, but I knew he was the one! He called me everyday for a month & he flew me out for a week. Leaving was awful! A month later he came to Portland for 8 weeks. Then we were separated for most of the summer while we worked our seasonal jobs. Now I'm living in DC for the winter but keeping my place in Portland so we can return there in the spring. You can make it work with trust & communication. Nothing else!

It worked for my husband and I. We were long distance for five months. He was still living in California and I was living in North Carolina. Although, we've known each other for nearly ten years and when we got together, we knew we wanted to get married from the get go. So after five months, he moved to NC and then three months later, we got married. It can definitely work if you're both invested in the relationship the same.

Im in a long distance reletionship, my boyfriend lives a 6 hour drive away from me. I know lots of people find it stupid being in one but i can not imagine my life with out him. We get to see eachother at lest once a month, and it makes us value our time together more. He in honestly my everything and id rather put up with skype calls then not be with him at all.

I have totally done the whole long distance relationship deal. It was good at first, but unless you have an actual foundation to go off of it's super hard. For example... I started dating this guy who lived fairly close to me, but resently had just graduated Basic Training for the air force, and was about to be stationed in ND for several year. Him and I didn't start talking until he was about to graduate from Basic. Him and I tried to maintain a relationship via FaceTime, texting, long phone calls, and letters. I thought I truly knew him. When he came home, him and I were on rocky ground, and well long story short told me he loved me, but came home and was sleeping with other girls, and started acting the total opposite of what he had played off to be. Once he move to ND it got a billion times worse. So basically what I am trying to get at is if you don't know each other personally, other than just text and phone calls and things, you old never truly know what kind of person they are.
