Any advice for hsg test?

My obgyn is scheduling me for an hsg test due to my endometriosis .. She also is ordering an ssh blood panel if I get my period this month. What should I expect for these tests, I'm a little nervous.

I had one a few weeks ago. It was a very awkward test to have (maybe because the radiologist was a handsome young doctor lol) I experienced some cramping during the exam. Some spotting for  bout three days after. They show you the picture right there so you know the results immediately, which is nice!! I took two Advil about an hour before. It was not nearly as bad as I had anticipated!! Good luck!!

I had hsg few weeks back my doc gave me antibiotics n told me to take Advil too . I ve retro vertical uterus or something so it took them more time than usual to do that. It is uncomfortable test there will be cramping during n after the tests so don't forget to take Advil at least an hour before ur test . They do advice u to hold off sex for atleast 48hrs to avoid any infections. The test dose make u super fertile for May be 3  or 4 months.bottom line is for some women the test is less crampy n for some not 😀

I had one in October and got pregnant my second cycle. I had one due to a leep I had done and concern of scar tissue. My tubes were clear and the test was awkward but not bad. They did have to dilate my cervix. That's what the problem had been. The scar tissue was keeping my cervix from opening. I will say THAT was not pleasant but one she did it and the test was over I was good. Wear a panty liner and old underwear the dye got every where! I also took Advil before hand. Just relax and take deep breathes. Good luck :)
