Your cycles don't have calendars. It'll be the same length as always

January is not a short month. That's the month you should be basing your cycle from this month. March will come early if you are staring at a calander. You should be counting days from cycle to cycle not what day of the month you normally start. It would be different every month if that's how you keep track.
