Joshua Isaiah!!

Amber • SAHM to a beautiful, smart, energetic 2 year old boy and his newborn brother!!
My son, Joshua, was born yesterday morning at 10:43! My hubby and I came up to the hospital to check in for our scheduled induction at 3:30am. Since I tested positive for group b strep, I had to have a minimum of 4 hours of antibiotics.  At 6am, we started a low dose of pitocin, which got my contractions going. I came in at 4cm and 60% effaced. At 7:30, the doctor came in to break my water and said I was almost 6cm and about 80% effaced. My contractions really picked up in intensity and frequency after my water was broken, and I got my epidural. About 10 minutes after my epi took effect, they put in the catheter and told me every now and then to roll off of my back onto one side or another. I had my hubby help roll me onto my left side and was about to doze off when I started feeling a lot of pressure in my bottom. The nurse came in to see how I was doing and I told her what was going on. The doctor (resident) came in an had me roll on my back so he could check me and when he did, he said to call my ob because I was fully effaced and dilated and ready to push. After just a few minutes, my ob came in and told me on my next contraction to push hard. I did and then pushed one more time and my son was born! I was in labor for 4.5 hrs and pushed for maybe 5 minutes. Joshua Isaiah was born at 10:43am and weighed 7lbs, 2.5oz and was 19.5" long! He is absolutely perfect and we are so excited to finally have him join our family!!
