Doula argument

My SO was completely on board when I first discussed hiring a doula. I'd really like to try to get through birth without drugs and feel that I have a much better chance of this happening if I have the support from someone experienced and knowledgable. After I watched The Business of Being Born, I was even more convinced this would be the way I could possibly get through it. However, his perspective completely changed after watching it. He sees it as a feminist issue that will ultimately push him out of the picture during the labor and delivery. Obviously, I want him to be there and be involved, but I don't think that he has enough knowledge (and definitely not the experience!) about how to help get me through it.
