Party for 3rd baby?

My sister in law wants to throw us either a gender reveal party or a "welcome baby" party. What are your thoughts on a party for a 3rd baby?

I'm not expecting one for my 3rd boy but if it happens it will be a nice surprise.

It's 2015 everyone I know has had a shower for every child. Go for it! I am having one. My first shower I had to share with my sister in law which I thought was unfair because it was her second and felt like the attention should have been on me. My second was really small. So this one I am planning myself with help from family and friends.

I had a shower for my 1st, almost 11 years ago, didn't do anything for my 2nd so I'm planning something for my 3rd, I'm having a "blessing bash" for our family & friends to come together & celebrate our recent marriage & our upcoming baby, nothing geared towards gifts, just fun!

I have a group of friends who are throwing me a "sprinkle" instead of a shower. I didn't ask for it, they just wanted to do it. And it's mostly for things like diapers.

We are having our third and will be flying back to the states after being gone 3 years.  They will likely throw a party for us, but it's because we won't be living in the area at all and will be visiting them less than 2 weeks during the transition (I will be roughly. 34-35 weeks).  If your family/friends WANT to do it for you, LET THEM.  No reason not to celebrate the life of a new family member.

I agree with Allisen. If they want to have something for you, go for it! This is our 3rd as well & DH & I know that our families are going to wanna have something for us. We're thinking something casual as they usually go all out! I'd hate for our families to spend so much money.

That's were we are at it's been 8 years since my last child and got rid of everything , so we're not sure if it's ok with number 3 to do a shower or welcome party
