When I found out I was pregnant, immediately switched drs to Clearvista bc my husband likes Comm North so much (mind you, this is both our first child). Met my OB (Dr. Holt), & knew immediately I made the right decision. We hadn't had the easiest pregnancy from: thinking we had a failed pregnancy or ovulating later than I thought, spotting at 8 wks, getting rear ended on 465 at 10 wks, finding I had an anterior placenta (not a big deal in theory) around 12-13 wks, being informed at 19 wks (still too early to 100% know) that I was having a girl, Christmas eve finding out that they were sure it was a girl & that baby's heart was abnormal, high risk dr appointments then ensued (Dr. Bivens is wonderful!), then having to meet w/ the fetal cardiologist (Dr. Farrell w/ Riley) bc baby has a heart condition, having weekly ultrasounds, then at 32 wks & 3 days my water breaks. As you can see my anxiety level was at an all time high not knowing what was happening & why. I was immediately admitted to the hospital where I would stay until I delivered. I saw all my doctors everyday, met the on call doctor each night & the plan was to not let me go any later than March 2nd. The nursing staff was/is unbelievable with my care & always brought me chocolate ice cream when I wanted it. Always asked if there was anything they could do or get for me or my husband, no matter how big or small. I made it until 33 weeks & 1 day, then little man decided he wanted to make himself known. I was having contractions the whole day w/ one nurse, then there was a shift change in nurses & it felt like she had been with me the whole day. As scared & terrified as I was bc of little man's heart condition, the on call dr was very calming during labor.
Now that my son is in the NICU, the care has not changed from me being the patient to him being the patient. I absolutely love the care both of us have received & how informed we are bc the staff takes the time & doesn't make you feel as though you are just another family w/ a baby in the NICU.
