I will be around 8 weeks when I tell, mainly because I was asked to participate in a leadership program that involves an intense outdoor excursion. I will need a good reason to decline. Otherwise I wouldn't tell until 12 weeks or so.

Under legislation you are covered by the disability act as soon as you tell your employer. It's important to tell them. Just incase you are unwell or need a management plan in place for health and safety.

I just started my new job jan 12 and I'm due beginning of October (conceived the week I started! 😳) I'm not telling til at least 13-14 weeks. My work is always cold so I never really need to take off my jacket so I can cover the babe till then. 😊

I haven't told my employer yet. I've been off of work since January 6th on disability due to my arthritis in my back, but I go back on the 16th and will tell them upon returning cuz I'll be 18weeks. :-)

I think between 8-12 weeks is a great time! You have to be respectful to them, and they need to know as soon as you're comfortable with telling so they can plan ahead and around that. Or at least that's what I think. If I were an employer I would want to know so I could take whatever precautions need be and also so I could plan ahead for the time they would need off.

I told them right away. Because I didn't want to risk losing the baby since we were trying for quite some time. I'm in the Army and we do some strenuous activities day in and day out with various equipment. So now I'm kind of upset, because I'm away from my subordinates and stuck behind the desk pushing paper.
