Does your tongue ?

I go to the doctors regularly , my tongue has been like this my whole life but inwas wondering if anyone else has this "problem?"  I have splits every where amd that white/tan stain never leaves even when i brush my tongue 6 times a day!  People notice it every time i stick my tongue out in photos or even when im talking/laughing , doctor say its normal. Just curious.

I'm a dental assistant. You have what is called a "map" tongue which are just peeks and valleys on the tongue-which is actually very common among people. As for the white area, when you push your teeth again it, does it feel like your tongue is peeling? It also can be from your eating habits. And believe it or not-medical doctors know only minimum about oral hygiene and inside of the mouth. I would go to your dentist. They most likely will give you prescription mouth wash.

Geographical tongue!!! Me too.. Hurts when I eat acidic foods.. It starts helping up in spots...

You are all good mine looks just the same 👍 it has been like that my whole life. It's called a geographical tongue. There is nothing wrong with your tongue I have the cracks and the white area. 😜😄

Looks like yeast to me but I also had mine look like that at hospital and while they said yeast it was just me dehydrated

Don't brush your tongue 6 times a day- or your teeth.  That might be causing some of the cracking, as far as the film I know a thin layer is considered normal but this seems a little thick I would ask both your doctor and your dentist again and see what they have to say.

But seriously brushing your teeth 6 times a day isn't good for them, it'll deminish your enamel over time and cause you more problems.  2 times a day is recommended 3 is fine, if you feel like your needing to brush just swish water around and spit.

Oil pulling might be somethingn for you to try- swish organic virgin coconut oil for 20 mins before eating, drinking, or brushing in the morning and brush right after.

Well if its normal I wouldn't worry..maybe cut down on coffee...nicotine. and try not brush it much..just brush it once or twice. Most people have cracks on tongue..but the whitness its to do with what your eating or drinking. Instead of brushing just wipe it with warm water and cotton bud or tissue..x

I dont have this but my mom does(split tongue, no stain). Do you smoke? Do you drink enough water? My mom smoked and claimed her tongue split because she wasnt drinking enough water. Not sure if she's lying or not Lol
