Sizing by fruit

Does anyone else ever feel like comparing a growing baby to the size of a fruit is a little silly? I've seen huge avocados and some small white onions, I just wish they compared to something that is a standard size! This is not just glow, it's all the baby websites.

Why can't we go by different balls, like have marble, ping pong, tennis, baseball, soft ball, basketball, etc.. Or electronics! Micro SD card, thumb drive, Nokia brick, iPhone 6 plus, TiVo box, etc..

For example, these are both lemons. I know this is an extreme case, but still.
