Anyone dead set on a natural birth?

Question

Natural birth, meaning no medical intervention (pain meds, pitocin, planned c-section, etc) as long as labor is without complications.

I decided on a birthing center in order to take away the temptation of meds should it really get hard for me. I'm against induction for convenience, terrified of a C-section period and know way too much about hospitals and their workings to actually trust one when I'm HEALTHY. I've watched several natural births and I have to say- it's all in how you approach it. If you think it's going to be the worst pain in the entire world- it will be. If you tell your nurse you're open to meds- she'll keep asking until you feel pressured (true story- I am one!). My view is I'm not sick, I don't need meds, I don't need a hospital and nothing needs to be fixed. I'm actually EXCITED about being able to do this naturally 😊

I am open to absolutely anything.....I've never given birth before, I don't know what my pain threshold is, how long my labour will last. I'll go with whatever the professionals advise/offer, consider all options and ask lots of questions and see how I feel on the day.

I'm a FTM but know that birth / labour doesn't always go to plan. It would be horribly disappointing if you were dead set on anything and had to change it as things were not progressing as planned. I'd strongly suggest having a plan but an open mind. Someone once said to me that you don't get a medal for having a natural birth, so don't put the extra stress on yourself and baby by refusing pain medication if you need it.

My plan is to go natural if possible or to use the gas before an epi of needed. I guess my plan is to do what is needed to get through it.

I will be trying for a vaginal birth, unless unable to due to complications. I plan on taking pain meds only bc if someone is in a significant amout of pain it is not good for baby or mommy. For example higher blood pressure, higher heart rate etc.

I was absolute, 100% going natural... Then a few weeks ago I was told my baby is breech. They tried to turn him with no luck; on the very same day, I was diagnosed with preeclampsia. So I had to give up my dream of a natural childbirth and face my biggest fear- a caesarean. Things happen. No matter how dead set you are parenting is about being flexible and doing what is right for your baby.

I'm planning a home birth because I don't even want interventions suggested to me at all. I don't want to feel pressured or bullied into a birth experience I have no desire for. If anything goes wrong, and I end up being transferred to the hospital for a c-section, I feel like I will be traumatized. ): I just hope everything works out.

I'm definitely going to try to go as far as I can without any epidural/ pain meds.

I will be having a hospital birth with an OB that is very supportive of natural births, alternative positions, etc. Her view is that women have been doing this since the begining of time and our bodies know what to do. Natural birth is not a bad place to start for a plan a, and make plan b and c in the moment. I will not have an episiotomy and will avoid a C-section at all costs.
