Round ligament pain?

Im having sore and sharp pains on both sides of my pelvic area, mostly the left side, right next to my lower hip bone. Sometimes it lasts a few seconds and sometimes it hangs around for a while until I find a more comfortable position. Coughing or laughing kills me! I'm assuming this is round ligament pain but read that if the pain lasts longer than a few seconds to tell your dr. Should I be worried?
