I had 4 boys heart rate stayed below 140 and I had 2 girls and their heart rates stayed over 150. So with me it was true. 6 different pregnancies. Pregnant with #7 and will have a pretty good indication to what I'm having according to the heart rate.

No you can't. They were saying I was having a girl but ultrasound proved I am having a boy

It's 90% accurate. Boys are higher than girls. Most boys heart beats are around 155-170 an girls are usually 135-150... I work at an OBGYN office an here this all the time from our doctors. No it is not always right. But most of the time it is.

Old wives tale. Doc, And sono tech said no. Turns out it was right for us.

During my last ultrasound, My baby was laying on its back she measured the heart beat, it was 144... Then it got a little wiggly and flipped over to show her it's butt! Lol she checked the heart rate again and it was 168 from the back side... So I'm thinking not so much! 😊

It's not true at all--your baby's heart rate is dependent on what they are doing, if they are awake, etc. Your heart doesnt beat any differently because you're a woman! The reason people go for this old wives tale is because there's a 50% chance of being right, and that's as good as flipping a coin; you're bound to get it right sometimes!
