Boyfriends mother passed away

Hello all,

My lovely boyfriend of 2 years just received unexpected news of his mothers passing. She was young and we are still trying to make sense of everything and book flights and find pet sitters. Have any of you helped a partner through the grieving process ? Do you have any helpful advice?
