Extreme toothache after dentist visit
I have a tooth that needs root canal procedure. Never had any pain until the second session last Wednesday where the dentist tried to find all the roots. I have been having horrible pain since then for more than 48 hours.
Yesterday I called the dentist office to report about the pain and I was prescribed with 6 days antibiotics. I didn't notice any improvement with the meds, in the contrary the pain is getting worse.
The pain is managable when I take paracetamol or ponstan. But once the effect is over, I am screwed. I have been waking up from my sleep because the whole left side of my face was in extreme pain. I even considered to call ambulance. But it got better after taking a bunch of ponstan and paracetamol.
I'm just worried that I could get into the point where taking more painkiller won't help or to overdose on paracetamol although I try to be careful by writing down the time whenever I take one.
This is the most horrible pain in my life :(
As I'm typing this, my left lower jaw is in sharp pain and pounding, even though I actually just took 500 mg paracetamol an hour ago.
