"Synthetic children?"

Question

So, Dolce and Gabbana recently went on the record as saying that "IVF results in children of chemistry, synthetic children. Uteruses for rent, semen chosen from a catalog...I am gay, I cannot have a child. I guess you cannot have everything in life. Life has a natural course, some things cannot be changed. One is the family."

Seeing as how I have very close friends who have been surrogates for people who could not carry a child themselves, and friends and family who used IVF to complete their families- and several dear friends who were conceived using IVF themselves- I'm a little put off by the insinuation that children conceived by IVF are somehow less real or valuable than those conceived naturally. Those children are real, and they are loved dearly.

Let me also add:

IVF is used by MANY people- LGBT and otherwise- to make a conscious choice to have a child after efforts to conceive otherwise have failed, and it takes literal blood, sweat, and tears to do so. It is a long and heartbreaking process. Those children are just as real and just as loved as any other.

Also, yes, they are free to express their opinion, but they also need to realize that they are going to get backlash for this.

Also, there is no cookie cutter family. Love and so many other things make a family- not just blood, not just living under one roof, and not the expectations of society.

Wow I think it's disgusting to say that an IVF child is less valuable then a naturally conceived one. My parents had no choice but to do IVF to conceive my brother and I. They did three rounds of treatment that were costly and harsh on my mom physically and emotionally. I may have not been conceived naturally but I was wanted, many who are conceived naturally are done so by accident and don't cost people anything. But that's just my opinion.

Also, how many people are actually going to know if a child was conceived naturally or via IVF and the like? I'm sure kids don't come along with a label sticking out their heads.

Why is a fashion company sticking their noses into IVF? Doesn't make sense to me. My cousin was conceived through IVF and he is just the same as any other child conceived the "normal" way. IVF is a great thing for couples who are having fertility issues or couples in a same-sex relationship who want children of their own.

I do not think this anymore.
When I first heard about it people called them "test tube" babies, and to me as a child it sounded like they were fake for some reason. 
Children think the weirdest shit. I also thought if I woke up in the middle of the night and rubbed my eyes, the crusty sleep that the sleep fairy put in there I would not be able to go back to sleep.

I find it extremely hypocritical that as gay men they could say such a thing. They are basically saying that no matter how much they will ever love another man, they would never allow that love to make a natural progression towards sharing a family and raising a child because that child would be brought into their lives in an "unnatural" way. I'm appalled that coming from a community where their life choices are widely criticized they would have the audacity to make such a blanket statement.
