Can straining for a poop cause a MC?

Serious question as I'm a nervous nelly!  It gets so hard to poop sometime and the fact I'm addicted to cheese is not helping the situation. Toilet time Is not very fun and I need to go poop but it's soo hard to push out but eventually do. Can straining to poop cause a MC? I'm 17 weeks tomorrow.

If you are straining that hard, I would call the doctor and ask for them to prescribe you stool softener. I struggled with constipation with my first pregnancy, before I asked. With my second pregnancy, as soon as my pregnancy was confirmed I asked. Best of luck to you. I know how uncomfortable it can be.

No but straining can cause hemmeroids. Avoid them if you can before they happen! Lots of water and fibre rich foods. Iron can cause constipation too (Prenatals have iron) you can always see your doctor and they'll tell you what's safe to get your bowels moving to avoid the painful hemmeroids before they occur!

No it can't the cervix is very tightly closed up it won't open when straining x

Colace and fiber supplements! It's the only thing keeping me going (and you can take up to 3 colace a day--and I know that's a lifesaver for me lol)

No but it can cause hemorrhoids or fissures. You don't want either of those, trust me. Definitely talk to your doctor.
