Baby measuring ahead?

So I am, according to my doctor and LMP 15w6d. I had an ultrasound today @ the ER (went in for really bad UTI) anyway the tech told me the baby is measuring at exactly 17 weeks. What do I do? I have an apt. With my OBGYN in about a week but for the time being, do I change my due date?

Did u have ultrasound at 12 weeks? Apparently most babys grow at very similar speed the first 12 weeks which is why they do the dating scan then. After that it can be a big or small baby. If not then they may say that you have ovulated early or got dates wrong. Also be careful with dates wn different drs. I had a few early scans due to bleeding. The first said i was 6 weeks, and 2 weeks later the dr said 6 weeks. One was speaking last missed period date and other gestational date... Confusing!!!

Agree with other comment. Go by your ultrasound prior to 12weeks and even with that there's a 3 day +/- error

My best friends is in early 30 weeks and baby is measuring 3weeks ahead nothing has changed but since she went early with her first dr is preparing her to go early again

You don't change your due date. My baby has measured a week behind then a week ahead and right on time with period at some points. It's just growth spurts. My baby was measuring 2 weeks ahead and I'm now a week overdue lol.

Nodont change your due date. All babies grow different that's why they early date to be accurate.

I've had this same issue, and it's tempting to think you need to change your due date to be prepared, but at this point it's just him growing above the average measurement for the gestational age, not that the gestational age is wrong.

Thank you for your input ladies! This makes a lot of sense. I did have a dating ultrasound at 8 weeks which is how they determined my due date. (I couldn't remember my LMP!) so I will stick to that date. I do have another question though. Since baby is measuring one week ahead, does that mean that he is developing one week ahead for now or that he is just bigger?
