Had my appt with the maternal fetal medicine today due to increased nuchal fold and kidney problems found on ultrasound. At the specialist they also noted a shortened nasal bone. Doctor said we have a 1 in 51 chance of having a Down's syndrome baby. Got the materni21 bloodwork done yesterday but decided against an amniocentesis. Doctor kept reassuring us that we have a good chance to have a healthy baby but either way we will be ready to take care of him. Have to go back in two weeks for a fetal echocardiogram to keep checking his heart and another scan when I'm 30 weeks to check his kidneys. On the plus side we got to double check the gender and the bloodwork will give a gender as well. It is nice to get to keep seeing him every couple of weeks!!! Please keep us in your prayers!
