Frustrated by doctor's office, what do you think?

Question

So, i haven't had my period in over 9 weeks and got bfn's on home tests. So I went into the doctor's office and got a blood test last Monday. The front desk nurse told me that the results should be available in 3-5 days, so I called on the third day. No results. Called the next day, nothing. 
Now it has been 9 days since the blood draw and i have heard nothing. I called yesterday and the nurse said that the lab released the results and the doctor is in the process of reviewing it. 
I don't know if I'm just being a crazy ttc person, but I feel like if the hospital cares for the mental, emotional, and physical well being of their patients, they shouldn't just hold on to the lab results and delay informing the patient. 
Especially something like a pregnancy test, as it could affect the person's life ( caffiene, alcohol, prenatal vitamins. Etc. )
What do you think? Am I just being impatient? For those of you who had blood tests, how long does it typically take?

Wow. Blood pregnancy tests at my dr has them next day. I would get a new dr. Them holding results for 9 days is unacceptable

As someone who worked in an obgyn office, hcg blood tests take 24 hours or less to come back. The nurse usually can't give out results until the dr reviews them, in case the nurse gives you false info before getting the professionals opinion. 9 days is a little long. The only testing I know to take that long would be genetic testing. I would voice your frustration to your doctor or ask to speak with the office manager

I got my result within 20 minutes. Those people in the lab should know what to look for. I would call and hound them. If tgat doesn't work go there and not leave till you know the result

You are right in being upset.  Call and say you want to leave a message for the Dr not just with the front desk.  I hate the receptionist at my office.

My doc ofc does the blood work but the phlebotomist tells me to wait a day or two!
