I'm pregnant now what?

I just found out I'm pregnant with my first, about 4 weeks. What's next? How is the first appointment like? I don't know what to expect. TIA

Celebrate! Women our age have healthier lifestyles, and more emotional/financial stability. My sister's instructor in her OB rotation in nursing school said the healthiest mothers-to-be she has had as patients have been over 35. Don't freak out over the genetic stats. They are not accurate because so much fewer women have babies over 35 compared to 20s. :-)

I just had my first appointment at 9 weeks and I was disappointed at how little information I got regarding the status of my baby. It was a pelvic, medical history, and blood work. They couldn't hear the heartbeat yet. I am getting a cell free fetal DNA blood test at 12 weeks (I will find out the gender!) and a Nuchal fold test (first ultrasound for that). I'm super excited for my next appointment!

Just call your doc for an appt. He'll tell you when you should walk in. Blood work will be done, urine, blood pressure, weight. Your doc will probably do an US if your appt is around 10 weeks of pregnancy. Probably will he talk about running some tests... But it's always your choice if you do them or not.
