Maternity leave?

I am having a hard time choosing when I should start taking maternity leave. I'm not due until end of October beginning of November. Plus the job I have doesn't pay for maternity leave which sucks 😃

I'm gonna work until dr says I can't anymore. I don't want to waste my maternity leave and not have much time with my baby boy lol

I'm due July 13th and hoping to work through the July holiday and then take vacation u til the baby comes. Probably a little crazy for hoping I'll make it through but I work at the hospital so I figure if things start going early at least I'll be at the right place! Originally this was my same plan but my due date was July 27th.. seemed a little more reasonable before the dates changed lol.

I'm due on a Thursday, so I'll work until the Sunday before. I only work three nights a week though, and my last baby came three days early. If I feel okay I can pick up shifts in between - though when I did that last time I just so happened to go into labor that day! 😉

I work for a tiny insurance company. So tiny I'm the only employee as of now. My boss let me know I'll get 2 weeks off after I have the baby. I'll get paid those two weeks but need to return asap! I know it's a long ways away but I'm already teary eyed knowing I'll leave my baby so soon.

Do you pay into your state's disability find? I think the answer of when to go on leave will depend on when you can afford to stop working if you're not getting paid, or if you have any complications, what your doctor advises.

I was thinking about taking October for the start of maternity leave. Ill be 36 weeks on oct 3rd. I will be taking four months off of work and then going back to work once I find a daycare or sitter.

Work until you can't anymore. That way you have more time to save for your leave and more time with your baby. My cousin started her leave early and really regretted it because she didn't get to spend much time with her son.

I plan on working until I go into labor or can't work any longer so I can save my leave for when the baby gets here.

I am taking the rest of my vacation the week before and then starting my mat leave on the week of my due date (due on the 27th and starting mat leave the 22nd)

I found that working past 36 weeks was very difficult. I was extremely swollen and developed PUPPS at the very end. I promised myself I would take leave at 36 weeks next time. I'm a teacher so I can plan around the summer so it's a little easier.
