The past day or two, my baby nurses actively for the first 10 minutes, and then gets choked during letdown. He then pulls off the breast and will not latch back on for at least 15 minutes or so. Sometimes, he will get choked and stay on the breast coughing, only to get choked again another 5 minutes or so into the feeding, and then pull off. What is confusing to me is that he will be 3 weeks old tomorow, and this is new. Could it be an increased milk production? I do remember my last son did get choked and pull off to cough, but he would latch right back on. We use a nipple shield already... Which is supposed to help with overactive letdown.
