Then tell you they didn't mean it? My husband called me the B word for the first time today and I feel so hurt. 😣 He never speaks to me like that in all the years we have been together. He says he didn't mean it but I feel so hurt. It was really a small argument about him throwing his clothes on the floor.

Yes. We say mean things to each other sometimes. It depends what the fight is about really.

You should tell him that when you said 'xxx...' I felt 'xxx..', when you are both calm. People are not perfect and we sometimes end up saying things we really didn't want to (I have and my partner has too) - especially when we are emotional. So we'll have to work throughout our lives to be better selves!

The pain will heal eventually I've been there. But once taxi driver told me that fight/quarrel can escalate with years so try not to let it escalate! Good luck with everything!

People say things in the heat of the moment to cause the other person pain.  He knew what would hurt you, so he said it.  It does not matter if it was true or not, it mattered that it hurt.
