Diabetes medications

I am currently taking glyburide and am getting close to the maximum dosage allowed which is 20mg. I was told that if I have to go above that I will have to take insulin. Are there any other pill type diabetes meds that I can take before going to the insulin? I'm trying my best not to get to that point but with baby getting bigger it's causing my levels to go up a little more each time. I had another a1 test done last mon, will see if that has gotten any better or worse but I'd just rather stay away from insulin as long as I can. I will do what I have to but it makes me nervous.
