Very confused... Thoughts?
Found out I was pregnant around 4 weeks with positive at home pregnancy test. After that first day, I spotted for the next 3 1/2 days. This was anywhere from light pink, to red, to brown. I wasn't too concerned, as my doctor said it was normal implantation bleeding. I then stopped spotting all together for the next 1 1/2 days. During this stretch I had minimal cramping (didn't hurt, was just slightly uncomfortable), fatigue, and breast tenderness.
Then I started bleeding bright red blood with blood clots. Cramps became moderate to severe, like I was on my period. I went to the ER, where they did blood work and a pelvic exam. The blood work came back with normal results. The physician said I was correct, hCG levels were consistent with a pregnancy of 4-6 weeks. I passed more blood and clots a few times at the ER. The physician was on the phone with an OBGYN just before the pelvic exam with questions. During the pelvic exam, blood was noted (obviously) but no tissue. The physician said that was good that there was no evidence of tissue being expelled. The cramps died down and were then minimal. They said I had a threatened abortion/miscarriage and were to come back in the morning when they could do an ultrasound.
The internal ultrasound shower nothing- no sac or anything. The tech said that it was normal since I was around 5 weeks. They did see a "shadow" next to an ovary. Told me I was ok to leave and to make a follow up with my regular doctor. I spoke to my regular doctor shortly after (same day) and they said that I miscarried because of the amount of blood I lost. The radiologist who looked at my ultrasound wanted me to come back in a week, thinking the "shadow" is probably a cyst. My regular doctor said it was unrelated and unnecessary for me to go back for any further ultrasound of blood work and that it wouldn't change the outcome or be helpful.
I'm super upset and extremely confused... How can three docs have three different thoughts? ER says good sign no tissue passed, radiologist says too early to see anything and maybe an ovarian cyst, and regular doc says definitely miscarriage. It's been two days since this whole ordeal and I'm still bleeding with clots and having uncomfortable cramping
