When to see a fertility doctor

Question

I have PCOS and have been off birth control since November 2014 and have not gotten a BFP. How long should I wait before seeing a fertility specialist?

Answer

I am not on any drugs yet should I talk to my obgyn about getting on something? I thought you had to see a fertility doctor if you wanted to go on something to help

After clomid fails. This is sadly my last round of clomid before seeing a specialist. My doc said she has to refer me to a specialist if i don't fall pregnant this time. Which is sad bc my insurance doesn't cover infertility!

I stopped bc in October 2014. I also have PCOS. I also have a low functioning thyroid. The doc recomended that in two months after taking my medication to come in and check my levels. If it's okay and if I'm not pregnant by then to start metforin and if that fails to go see a fertility doctor. We're ttc for 3 years then went on bc to regulate cycles and then stopped. So if all fails almost 12 months after stopping bc I would have to see a fertility doctor.
