I never state a rate when I babysit, I just tell them to pay me whatever they're comfortable with. Not everyone can afford to pay the same. One family I babysit for gives me $25 for 2 hours of babysitting 1 child, during which time I do not have to get her fed, put her to bed, anything. I'm just watching and playing with her and maybe changing a diaper once in awhile. I've had others give me $20 for almost 6 hours of babysitting 2 kids and I did feed them dinner and put them to bed. It all depends I guess.

I work a full time job, 40 hours a week. I know some girl was trying to charge me 5 dollars an hour tax free.. Girl please, I would have to give her one of my paychecks. I found someone that will watch my baby for about 125 every two weeks. If you're looking for a babysitter just for getting out the house, I'd give 2.50 an hour
