Sperm banks....?

So me and my wife want to have a baby but I read an article about how sperm banks sometimes mix up the race and I don't want that to me what do u think I should do.

Me and my wife used a sperm bank. We felt it was much safer than to have a known donor and have to deal with awkwardness or the chance he may change his mind and want to be in our child's life.

Our bank seems to have a pretty secure system in place to triple check accuracy each time we go in for insemination.  I've never been worried about a mix up. Athough, I could care less about race, I would be more concerned about not getting the donor I had chosen if there ever was a mix up.

I think it's a very personal decision and depends on what you're comfortable with. I am currently pregnant with twins conceived using frozen sperm from that particular sperm bank. We're not at all worried about a mix-up

Me and my wife are using a donor who found us on a sperm donor page...  We have also found a contract we will have him sign that states he will give up all rights when he gives us his sperm and he has no say in how it is used...  But we have agreed to send him updates every now and then...  Sperm banks are expensive and not guaranteed to be completely up to date with everything like they claim to be...  So really it's up to you on what you are comfortable with...

We're personally using a relative but it's every couples decision.  We thought about using a sperm bank, looked into them and even started the process to enroll my doctor with the paperwork.  We later found out our original donor was willing to give us another donation. Yay!! I personally just wanna have a baby it doesn't matter to me from where but with my wife I can understand her desire to have her genes in our baby as well.

I've used California cryo bank several times and felt they were secure.

My bank checks when you order, when you pick it up, and before the insemination. The race mix up thing happened because the bank couldn't read their handwriting not because they just mixed something up randomly. I doubt it would happen to you.
